厄特沃什数

厄特沃什数Eo)是流体力学中的无量纲,得名自匈牙利物理学家罗兰·厄特沃什英语Loránd Eötvös(1848–1919)[1][2]。此无因次参数有另外一形式,称为邦德数Bo[2][3][4],得名自英国物理学家Wilfrid Noel Bond(1897–1937)[3][5]

厄特沃什数和莫顿数可以用来描述在运动流体中气泡或是水滴的形状。厄特沃什数可以视为是浮力表面张力的比值。

  • :两相密度的差(SI制单位:kg/m3
  • g重力加速度(SI制单位:m/s2
  • L:特征长度,(SI制单位:m)
  • 表面张力,(SI制单位:N/m)

以下是用邦德数表示的公式:

  • Bo:邦德数
  • 为密度或是两相的密度差
  • a是和彻体力英语body force有关的加速度,多半是重力
  • L是特征长度,例如水滴的半径
  • 为表面张力

邦德数可以量测表面张力相较于彻体力的重要性,若邦德数高,表示物体不太会被表面张力影响,若邦德数低(一般至少要小于1)表示物体主要是受表面张力影响。中间值表示表面张力和彻体力达到某种平衡。

邦德数最常用来比较重力和表面张力,可以由许多不同的方式推导,例如在固态表面液滴压力的尺度分析英语scale analysis (mathematics)。不过针对特定问题时,找到适当的特征长度非常重要。有一些无量纲也和邦德数有关:

其中Eo、Go和De分别是厄特沃什数、Goucher数及Deryagin数。Goucher数衍生自线材包膜的问题,用R表示特征尺度,而及Deryagin数衍生自薄膜厚度的问题,用L表示特征尺度。
