酋长龙属（学名：Loncosaurus）是鸟脚亚目恐龙的一属，化石发现于阿根廷的圣克鲁斯省，地质年代为上白垩纪。模式种是阿根廷酋长龙（L. argentinus），是由阿根廷古生物学家佛罗伦天奴·阿米希诺（Florentino Ameghino）描述、命名，目前被认为是疑名。酋长龙的学名意思并不明确，有可能是阿劳坎语的“酋长”或希腊文的“长矛”，中文译名则使用了前者的意思[1]。由于酋长龙曾长时间被误认为是属于兽脚亚目，所以有关牠的资料经常存在矛盾。
历史
佛罗伦天奴·阿米希诺在1898年[2][3][4][5]或1899年[6][7][8][9][10]叙述、命名了酋长龙，化石包含一根股骨近端（编号MACN-1629）及牙齿，发现于圣克鲁斯省的Cardiel地层或Matasiete地层[9]。
无论是哪一种说法，他都认为酋长龙是属于肉食性的斑龙科，而休尼（Friedrich von Huene）也支持这个说法[11]。后来的研究则指酋长龙是属于虚骨龙科[12]，但当时未分类的小型肉食性恐龙，多被分类到虚骨龙科。因为牙齿化石类似肉食性动物，而造成这种鉴定结果。
经过数十年后，Ralph Molnar重新研究这些化石[13]。他发现那牙齿不是来自于该股骨的同一动物个体。他更指出该股骨是属于棱齿龙类或龟。后来的研究发现并没有不同的结果，只有股骨的长度数据不同，以及酋长龙是属于禽龙类而非棱齿龙类[9]。目前酋长龙被分类为鸟脚下目的分类不明属[9]、或禽龙类[3][4]。奇怪的是有人指出酋长龙是属于锐颌龙属，但却没有解释原因，这个分类法后来没有被接纳[14]。
古生物学
罗多尔夫·科里亚（Rodolfo Coria）估计酋长龙长约5米[9]。这个体型在鸟脚下目是属于小至中等动物，所以酋长龙有可能是行动轻盈的双足草食性恐龙[4]。
