Wolf 489的质量约0.55个太阳质量[2],表面重力是107.95 ± 0.02 (8.91 · 107) cm·s−2,[2]大约是地球重力的91 000倍,对应半径9089公里,或地球半径的143% 。

Wolf 489温度约为5030K[2] (与早期K型主序星类似);它的冷却年龄,即退化星的年龄(不包括主序星和巨星的寿命)是5.19 Gyr[3]。Wolf 489应该呈白色,略带黄色,与K 型主序星的颜色几乎相同。
