理查兹陨石坑

理查兹陨石坑（Richards）是位于月球背面巨大的门捷列夫环形山坑内的一座小撞击坑，其名称取自美国化学家，1914年诺贝尔化学奖得主西奥多·威廉·理查兹(1868年-1928年)，1976年被国际天文学联合会批准接受。

描述

该陨坑坐落在门捷列夫环形山坑底西北，居于西南偏西的贝格曼陨石坑和东面费歇尔陨石坑中间、西北毗邻卢瑟福陨石坑，更小的哈登陨石坑及本尼迪陨石坑分别位于它的东南及东南偏南、西南则坐落了莫瓦桑陨石坑，沿理查兹陨石坑西侧壁外延伸着门捷列夫链坑^[1]。

理查兹陨石坑外观呈圆杯状，带有一个平坦的小坑底，几乎未受到撞击磨损。坑壁边缘清晰、尖峭，东北侧覆盖了一座小撞击坑。陨坑内壁宽缓平整，具有较高的反照率，坑壁高出周边地形630米^[3]。
