查理士环形山（Challis）是位于月球背面北极区的一座大撞击坑，其名称取自十九世纪英国牧师、物理学家暨天文学家詹姆斯·查理士（James Challis，1803年-1862年），1935年被国际天文学联合会正式批准接受。
描述
[编辑]该陨坑非常接近月球北侧边沿，从地球上看外观明显透视变形，它的北面通过一处裂口与曼恩陨石坑相连接、东南靠近大小相近的斯科斯比环形山、而略大德西特环形山则位于它的东面[1]。该陨坑中心月面坐标为79°35′N 9°05′E / 79.58°N 9.09°E，直径53.21公里[2]，深度约2.392公里[3]。
查理士环形山坑壁因后续的撞击而损毁和侵蚀，只有东南侧相对最完整，南侧坑壁上横跨了一座小撞击坑，其余边缘则破碎而参差不齐。查理士环形山坑壁最大高出周边地形1150米[3]，内部容积约有2310.05立方千米[3]。它与曼恩陨石坑的坑底均已被熔岩流覆盖，二者形成一个相对平坦合一的坑底，表面除散布有许多微小的陨石坑，没有其它醒目的地貌结构。
