但丁环形山（Dante）是月球背面北半球上的一座大型撞击坑，约形成于晚雨海世[1]，其名称取自意大利文艺复兴时期著名诗人但丁·阿利吉耶里（1265年-1321年），1970年被国际天文联合会正式批准接受[1]。
描述
[编辑]该陨坑坐落在弗罗因德利希-沙罗诺夫盆地内，正好位于月球180°子午线上。在它西侧是弗罗因德利希环形山、西北为沙因环形山，拉莫尔环形山位于它的北面、东侧邻近菲茨杰拉德环形山、东南和西南分别横亘着摩尔斯环形山和白贝罗环形山，而西南更远处则坐落直径约50公里的小月海-奢湖[2]。该环形山的中心月面坐标为25°22′N 180°00′E / 25.36°N 180°E，直径53.83公里[3]，深度2.4公里[1]。
但丁环形山外观大体圆形，磨损程度一般。外侧壁平缓，东北侧附靠着一座小撞击坑，卫星坑但丁 G则紧挨在它的东南侧；环形山坑壁平均高出周边地形1160米[1]，内部容积2372.70公里³[1]。坑底地表崎岖不平，分布有数座醒目的小陨坑。来自西北卫星坑但丁 Q的射纹系统部分覆盖了但丁环形山。
但丁环形山中的月壤富含铝和钙，曾是美国宇航局所宣告星座计划中感兴趣的区域。据推测，在该地区很有可能会找到与古月壳有关的斜长岩样本（创世之石）。
