塔尔博特陨石坑

塔尔博特陨石坑（Talbot）是月球正面位于史密斯海西侧的一座小撞击坑，其名称取自英国物理学家及化学家威廉·福克斯·塔尔博特（1800年-1877年），1976年被国际天文学联合会正式批准接受。

描述

塔尔博特陨石坑是一座被熔岩掩没的圆碗状撞击坑，只有狭窄的呈高反照率的壁顶露出在幽暗的月海表面之上。陨坑西侧坑壁上坐落着一座小撞击坑。平坦的坑底表面类似周边的月海，没有其它典型的地貌结构。
