HD 93129是在船底座星云中的一颗三合星系统,而且三颗恒星都是高温的O型星,都属于银河系最亮恒星列表中的恒星。它是船底座OB1星协中,年轻的川普勒14星团的主要成员,其它超明亮的成员还有海山二WR25

位置

船底座星云海山二在左边,川普勒14就在中间。

HD 93129是在恒星形成区船底座星云川普勒14疏散星团中心发现的恒星。它的距离太远,因此不能使用周年视差法准确的测量其距离,但是海山二侏儒星云的精确距离、星团建模以及关于假定在同一区域的其它恒星天体的物理数据,都推导出距离约为2,300秒差距[5]。HD 93129 Aa是最靠近地球的O2超巨星[12]

这个空间是其它许多巨大和明亮恒星的家。HD 93128是另一颗O3.5的超巨星,距离川普勒14少于24’;HD 93250HD 93205是在更大的船底座川普勒16星团周围的另外2颗O3.5型的恒星。还有3颗沃夫–瑞叶星、一颗O4超巨星和许多其它的O型恒星,以及独特的海山二(船底座η)[9]

系统

HD 93129可以清晰的看出是由两颗恒星HD 93129A和HD 93129B组成,而HD 93129A本身又由两颗更近的恒星组成。

HD 93129A经由光谱解析为联星。这个系统由最亮的恒星主导,但它的伴星也只是暗了0.9星等。HD 93129Aa是一颗O2型的超巨星,Ab是O3.5的主序星[13]。它们之间的角距离从2004年的55mas减少到2013年的27mas,但是还未能定出精确的轨道[12]

HD 93129B是一颗O3.5主序星,与主星HD 93129A相距3弧秒,视星等暗了1.5等,与HD 93129Ab大致相同[1][3]

在5弧秒内又检测到5颗较暗的星,在红外线的波段上暗5到7星等[12]

性质

HD 93129所有的3颗恒星都是银河系最亮的恒星之一[5];超巨星的主星光度为1,480,000 L,其它两颗的光度也是575,000 L。它们也是星系中最热的恒星之一,超巨星的表面温度约为42,500K,另外两颗约为52,000K。计算得出恒星的质量在70 M和110 M之间。

HD 93129Aa已经离开主序带,估计其年龄在90万年左右。川普勒14存在于零龄主序带上的恒星表明其年龄可能小于60万年[6]
