凤凰座SX型变星

凤凰座SX型变星变星的一种,这些恒星的亮度表现出在0.03~0.08天 (0.7~1.9小时)的短周期脉动变化,它们的光谱类型在A2~F5,星等变化可以达到0.7等[1]。相较于太阳,这些恒星的金属量较低,这意味着其它元素相较于的丰度是较低的。在恒星光谱分类中,相较于同类型的恒星,它们有着较高的空间速度和低光度[2][3],这些属性使凤凰座SX型变星和表兄弟的盾牌座δ型变星有所区别。后著有著较长的周期、高金属量和较大的变光幅度[4]

凤凰座SX型变星主要分出现在球状星团银晕中,变光周期和亮度明显的有周光关系[5]。所有已知在球状星团中的凤凰座SX型变都是蓝离散星[6],这些恒星看起来比在同一个星团中有着相同发光度的主序星更蓝 (有着更高的温度)[7]
