Vanadium(II)oksied of vanadiummonoksied is 'n verbinding van vanadium in sy 2+ oksidasietoestand en suurstof met die chemiese formule VO

Kristalstruktuur

Vanadiummonoksied kristalliseer in die kubiese haliet-struktuur (B1 in die strukturbericht-klassifikasie) en kan mengkristalle met vanadiumnitried en -karbied vorm. Vanadiummonoksied is egter 'n sterk niestoigiometriese verbinding en kan as VOy geskryf word, met y wat wissel van ongeveer 0,80 tot 1,25. Die struktuur daarvan is wanordelik en bevat nie net vakatures van vanadium of suurstof in die oktaëdriese holtes van die kubiese halietstruktuur (B1) nie, maar kan ook vanadiumatome in die andersins onbesette tetraëdriese posisies bevat. Dit herinner aan die bismuttrifluoriedstruktuur (D03). Hierdie struktuur het dieselfde ruimtegroep Fm3m as die B1-struktuur, maar in BiF3 word sy tetraëdriese 8c-posisies deur fluoriedione beset. In vanadiummonoksied is hul besetting baie minder as in BiF3. KMR toon dat die vanadiumione in die tetraëders waarskynlik V3+-ione is.[3]

Uitgloeiing van monsters met y=1,29 by 970K lei tot 'n geordende fase (V52O64) met 'n tetragonale struktuur en ruimtegroep I41/amd (#141) Die oorgang is van die eerste orde.[3]
