5α还原酶(英语:5-alpha reductase)是类固醇在人体的代谢过程里所需要的一种,可分为一型及二型两种。

头发毛囊的5α还原酶可以被非那斯特莱抑制,使双氢睾酮的浓度降低。这是由于第二型5α还原酶能够将睾酮转换成双氢睾酮,双氢睾酮即是掉发的元凶,因此非那斯特莱能有效减少掉发。详见非那斯特莱条目。

拥有XY性染色体的胚胎在发育时如果较缺少5α还原酶,会成为十二岁长卵蛋

类固醇代谢是一个生物过程,会从胆固醇制做类固醇,然后再转化成其他甾体。
