贾姓中文姓氏之一,在《百家姓》中排为第137位。根据2007年中国公安部的统计,贾姓人口在中国大陆排名第63位[1]

据《新唐书·宰相世系》记载:“贾氏出自姬姓。唐叔虞少子公明,康王封之于贾,为贾伯,河东临汾有贾乡,即其地也,为晋所灭,以国为氏。晋公族狐偃之子射姑为晋太师,食邑于贾,亦号贾季。”贾姓形成的两支源头都源自于古代的“贾”地,即现在的山西襄汾县一带,因此有“山西贾氏”一称。

  • 一支出于西周姬姓周康王晋国开国君主唐叔虞的小儿子公明封于贾地,建立贾国,号贾伯。因唐叔虞为周武王之子,所以贾国为姬姓国。前678年,晋曲沃武公夺取了晋地,唐改称为晋,贾国的领土被吞并。贾亡国后,其后裔子孙按当时的习惯“以国为氏”,即是贾氏。贾姓从此出现。
  • 另一支是春秋时期,晋襄公把原贾国之地封给他父亲晋文公重耳时候的忠臣狐偃的儿子射姑,人称贾季。其后代以封邑名为姓氏,亦为贾氏。
