查特吉鳄科 Chatterjeeidae | |
苏牟龙科（学名：Shuvosauridae）是伪鳄类波波龙超科的一个科，由萨克·查特吉（Sankar Chatterjee）在1993年根据苏牟龙所建立[1]。化石发现于美国、阿根廷，地质年代相当于三叠纪晚期的卡尼阶到瑞替阶。
在2007年，S. Nesbitt发现波波龙科的灵鳄非常类似苏牟龙。同时，S. Nesbitt证实苏牟龙与查特吉鳄是同一种动物，并与灵鳄、南美洲的岩鳄构成一个演化支，而该演化支属于波波龙超科。尽管查特吉鳄不再是个有效的属名，但R.A. Long与P.A. Murray在1995年根据查特吉鳄命名了查特吉鳄科（Chatterjeeidae）[2]。苏牟龙科与查特吉鳄亚科的范围相同。根据国际动物命名委员会的优先权命名规则，苏牟龙亚科较早被命名，因此具有优先权[3]。在2011年，S. Nesbitt提出苏牟龙科的定义：包含苏牟龙、岩鳄在内的最小演化支[4]。
