IC 4756是位于巨蛇座的一个既大且明亮的疏散星团。其距离地球大约1300光年。IC 4756最早由英国天文学家汤马士·威廉·韦伯于1859年出版的书籍中纪录；但约翰·路易·埃米尔·德雷耳编辑索引星表时则将该星团的发现者认定为1896年时首次对该星团进行研究的美国天文学家梭伦·欧文·贝利[2]。
它被称为格拉夫星团，亮度足以用肉眼看到，被认为是双筒望远镜或小型望远镜欣赏的最佳星团[3]。
IC 4756若与NGC 6633配对，则被称为特威德星团，也称为秘密花园星团[4]。
IC 4756的年龄大约是5亿年[5]到8[6]。其金属量类似于太阳，是-0.02+0.01
− dex.[7]。
对该星团与其他年龄相近星团的金属量观测显示，年龄相近的疏散星团与银河系中心的距离接近一致[8]。
恒星
[编辑]星团中有一些值得注意的恒星。IC 4756中的HD 172365[9]含有大量过量的锂，是可能的后蓝掉队星[10]。HD 172189也是IC 4756的成员，是一颗大陵五型变星的食变星[11]，其周期为5.70日。该系统中的主星也是盾牌座δ型变星，有多种脉动频率，与食的组合导致系统约有0.1星等的光度变化[12]。
