无政府主义哲学及政治运动也与动物权利运动有所关联。许多无政府主义者支持素食主义乃至纯素主义，并在相关抗议活动中起到了一定作用。他们会自称自己不仅为了人类的自由而奋斗，也为了非人类动物的自由而奋斗[1]。
纯素食无政府主义
纯素食无政府主义，亦可以称之为严格素食无政府主义或纯素食安那奇主义，是政治哲学无政府主义、动物权利主义、素食主义的思想。它的中心思想便是人类不应该也没有必要伤害非人类动物，人类应该过着纯素食的生活。纯素食无政府主义常被认为是绿色无政府主义的反对物种歧视概念，或是动物解放主义中的无政府主义观点[2]。
这种哲学思想首次在布来恩‧A‧多明尼克(Brian A. Dominick)的著作“动物解放与社会革命(Animal Liberation and Social Revolution)”中被宣传，后来符号由无政府庞克乐队“病毒(Virus)”所使用。这个思想常被称为激进素食主义、完全解放、完全革命、完全废除，但是认同以上思想的人不代表一定是纯素食无政府主义者[3]。
