方轭骨

方轭骨（英语：quadratojugal bone）是存在于许多脊椎动物，包括一些活的爬行动物和两栖动物中的头部骨骼[1]。
在具有方轭骨的动物中，通常发现该结构从前部连接至颌骨，并从上方连接至鳞状骨。 它通常位于颅骨的后下角[2] 。许多现代四足动物缺少方轭骨，如蝾螈、哺乳动物、鸟类和有鳞目动物（蜥蜴和蛇）。在具有方轭骨骨骼的四足动物中，它经常形成颌骨关节的一部分[3] 。
从发育上看，方轭骨是颞颥部位的皮膜骨，构成了原始的脑壳。鳞状骨和方轭骨共同形成了脸颊区域[4]，可以为面部肌肉提供依附[5]。
