Muspelheim
O Muspelheim, tamén chamado Muspel (do antigo nórdico Múspellsheimr e Múspell, respectivamente), é o reino do lume na mitoloxía nórdica.[1] É o fogar dos Xigantes de lume, dos cales Surt era o máis poderoso. Muspelheim significa mundo de lume ou fogar do lume, sendo Muspel lume e Heim, fogar ou mundo.
Crese que Muspelheim era o máis elevado de tódolos reinos, e estaba por riba de Asgard, o fogar dos Æsir. Máis ó norte encontrábase Niflheim, o reino de xeo.
Na mitoloxía nórdica, a creación iníciase co contacto entre o lume e o xeo no inmenso baleiro inicial coñecido como Ginnungagap, creándose a auga. Os obxectos brillantes do ceo nocturno, como planetas, cometas e estrelas, xurdiron das faíscas de Muspelheim.
No Ragnarök, os ceos abriranse e Surt sairá de Muspelheim seguido de tódolos seus xigantes, marchando cara Asgard e destruíndo ó seu paso a ponte Bifröst.
