سێمێل شارۆچکەیەکە کە ناوەندی قەزای سێمێل لە پارێزگای دھۆکە. دانیشتووانی سێمێل، کوردی موسڵمان و ئێزدی و ئاشووری[١][٢] و ئەرمەنین. پێکهاتووە لە دوو ناحیە فایدە و باتێل.[٣] سێمێل ١٤ کیلۆمەتر لە ڕۆژاوای شاری دهۆک دوورە. شارۆچکەکە نزیکە لە سنووری تورکیا.
زۆرینەی ئەرمەنی و ئاشوورییەکانهی سێمێل لەدوای کۆمەڵکوژیی ئەرمەنی و ئاشوورییەکان لە ١٩١٥ هاتنە شارۆچکەکە.[٤] لە ٧ی ئابی ١٩٣٣، لەلایەن حکوومەتی عێراقییەوە ئاشوورییەکانی سێمێل ڕووبەڕووی کۆمەڵکوژییەک بوونەوە و ٣٠٠٠ ئاشووری لەوکاتەدا بوونە قوربانی.[٥]
