Die Yeomanry-hotel, een van die verlate en vervalle geboue op Deelfontein.

Deelfontein is klein nedersetting in die Noord-Kaap, Suid-Afrika. Die nedersetting is primêr ontwikkel om die spoorweë van diens te wees, weens sy goeie watervoorsiening vir stoomlokomotiewe. Tans is dit slegs 'n spoorweghalte op die Kaapstad-Johannesburg spoorlyn. Die naaste groot dorpe is De Aar en Richmond. Dit word as 'n spookdorp beskou.

Geskiedenis

Gedurende 1889 het Elias Adamstein, 'n immigrant uit Litaue, 'n hotel aan die westekant van die platform by Deelfonteinhalte gebou. Adamstein het 'n fortuin uit die verkoop van volstruisvere gemaak en het homself as 'n mededinger van Douglas Logan gevestig, wat onder andere Matjiesfontein langs die spoorlyn gebou het. Tien jaar later, tydens die Tweede Vryheidsoorlog, het die Britte 'n voorraadbasis, militêre hospitaal en 'n aansterkkamp hier gevestig. Adamstein het toe sy hotel Yeomanry genoem. Daar is 'n militêre begraafplaas van hele paar honderd Britse soldate hier.
