.org是互联网的通用顶级域之一，“org”是英文“organization（组织）”的缩写，在创立时主要供不属于当时其他5个通用顶级域类别（如.gov和.edu）的组织使用，包括非营利机构、国际组织等。现在已经没有任何限制，它和顶级域.com一样可以用于任何场合，包括营利和非营利组织、机构、团体。
