嘉靖三十一年（1552年）壬子科广西乡试第一名举人[1]。嘉靖三十八年（1559年）己未科进士。隆庆初年，任兵部郎中，以地震上疏言事，得到穆宗采纳。不久以疾归。万历改元，督抚交章论荐，最终没有起用。[2]。
