莫姆尔峡谷
莫姆尔峡谷（Mommur Chasma）是天王星卫星天卫四已探测表面最巨大的峡谷（Chasma）[1]。
地质
[编辑]该峡谷可能是于卫星刚形成时，天卫四内部膨胀使主要以冰组成的外壳扩张时裂开而形成[2]。这个峡谷是裂谷造成的地堑或正断层造成的断层崖例子。莫姆尔峡谷于1986年1月航海家2号探测时首次拍摄到影像[3]。
名称由来
[编辑]USGS的 Gazetteer of Planetary Nomenclature 指出莫姆尔峡谷的名称由来自《仲夏夜之梦》中，仙王奥伯龙在森林中的住处[1]。实际上奥布朗住处的名称并非来自莎士比亚的剧本，而是法语叙事诗《Huon of Bordeaux》。
