美浓 (大字)

美浓，是台湾高雄市美浓区的一个传统地域名称，位于该区西北部。相较于今日行政区，其范围大致包弥浓里不含南端、泰安里、东门里、广德里西南部、中圳里、兴隆里西北端、福安里。[1][2]

历史

台湾日治初期，美浓地区为一街庄，称为“弥浓庄”，隶属于港西上里。该庄北与月眉庄为邻，东与竹头角庄为邻，南边为中坛庄、金瓜藔庄，西边为旗尾庄。[1]

1901年（日治明治三十四年）11月，全台设置二十厅，该庄隶属于蕃薯藔厅。1909年（明治四十二年）10月，合并二十厅为十二厅，该庄改隶属于阿缑厅。1920年（大正九年），废十二厅改设五州二厅，该庄改制并雅化为“美浓”大字，隶属于高雄州旗山郡美浓街。[3]

战后美浓街改制为美浓镇，隶属于高雄县，大字亦改制为里。1950年高、屏分治，美浓镇仍隶属于高雄县。2010年12月25日，因高雄县市合并，美浓镇改制高雄市美浓区。

聚落

本地区发展较早的聚落有弥浓、下埤头、藔山、牛埔等，在日治期初期的官方地图上已有记载。[1]
