笑林广记

《笑林广记》是中国清代笑话集，由游戏主人，一说程世爵收集而成，多以文言夹杂吴语白话文而作。《笑林广记》全书共分十二部，一古艳（官职科名等）、二腐流、三术业、四形体、五殊禀（痴呆善忘等）、六闺风、七世讳（帮闲娼优等）、八僧道、九贪吝、十贫窭、十一讥刺、十二谬误。

《笑林广记》多取材自明清笑话，形式上以短小精悍为主，并有大量的黄色笑话^[1]。

^ 吴小如，《心影萍踪·读〈笑林广记〉》中说：“对于笑话所以不离猥亵的缘故，……我想除了苦茶庵主人在他《笑话选》的序里所申诉的种种心理学方面的道理之外（文长不录，读者谅之），更主要的一个原因，乃是中国民俗受佛教影响太深，加之对名教观念看得过重，一般群众对于这种器官和行为始终存有不净观念，于是一面编成笑话讲了出来给人们听着解馋，另一面则把这种譬况加诸多数人所最不满意的对象身上，做为伸冤泄愤的工具。”
