玛速尼鸟
传说
邵族认为玛速尼鸟是族里一位勇士死后所化身而成的鸟，牠们听的懂人话，也能预知未来，并且为了保护族人而啼叫。
真身
传说中玛速尼鸟的身体黑白相杂，头部是灰色的，双眼还发着光芒，即是绣眼画眉。
鸟占
邵族人会以玛速尼鸟的鸣叫、动态和飞行方向为占卜依据，若在外遇到玛速尼鸟，以左侧鸣叫为吉兆、右侧鸣叫则为凶兆，须立刻停止要做的事情并返回[1][2][3][4]:83。
