参数 (統計)

参数（英语：parameter），亦称母数 ，在统计学中指总体中量测到，可以描述总体性质的量测量，例如平均数或标准差。若总体依循一已知的特定分布（例如正态分布），可以用这参数来完全的描述总体，也可以定义在此总体中样本可能有的概率分布。

参数是针对总体，而统计量是针对统计样本的。参数量测总体中的真实数值，而统计量是用样本中所估计的结果。因此统计参数（英语：statistical parameter）可以更精确的表示为总体参数（英语：population parameter）[1][2]。
