校园枪击是指针对各级学校等教育机构之涉及使用枪支的武装袭击。 由于多人伤亡，许多校园枪击事件也被归类为大规模枪击事件。[1][2] 这种现象在美国最为普遍，与学校有关的枪击事件数量最多[3][4]，尽管世界其他地方也发生过校园枪击事件。
根据研究，袭击者最主要的动机是：欺凌/迫害/威胁（75%) 和报复 (61%)，而 54% 的人表示有很多原因。 其余动机包括试图解决问题 (34%)、自杀或抑郁 (27%) 以及寻求关注或认可 (24%)。[5]
特别是在美国，校园枪击事件引发了关于枪支暴力、零容忍政策、枪支权利和枪支管制的政治辩论。
