林达博共振

林达博共振的名称源自瑞典星系天文学家贝蒂·林达博[1],是天体的周转频率(其中一个的拱点与另一个成比率)有着简单和复合的强制频率的一种轨道共振。种共振倾向于增加天体的轨道离心率[2],和造成它的拱点经度与强制力的一致性。林达博共振导出了螺旋密度波[3],不仅适用在星系(恒星是受螺旋臂本身的支配),也适用于土星环(环中的微粒是受到土星卫星的力支配)。

林达博共振影响了恒星与星系盘中心的距离,恒星轨道速度的径向分量的自然频率与其经过的螺旋臂的重力位能最大值的频率接近。如果恒星环绕星系中心的轨道速度大于它将经过这一部分螺旋臂的速度,则将发生内林达博共振-如果相似,则是外林达博共振[4]。处于内林达博共振,恒星的轨道速度将会增加,使恒星向外移动;而处于外林达博共振则会降低轨道速度,造成恒星向内运动。
