《新闻急先锋》（英语：The Newsroom）是一部由艾伦·索金原创的美国剧情类电视剧，于2012年6月24日在HBO电视台首播。该剧讲述了一个虚构电视台“亚特兰蒂斯有线新闻台”（Atlantis Cable News，简称：ACN）台前幕后的故事，同时也描述了ACN主播威尔·麦卡沃伊及其制作团队面对“电视台商业需求与个人新闻操守发生冲突时”^[4] 的一系列表现。

本剧集制作人及原创人艾伦·索金曾经制作过另外一部艾美奖大热剧集《白宫风云》，为了制作《新闻急先锋》，艾伦·索金与他的制作伙伴深入了解了各大新闻频道的制作内幕。

剧情概述

《新闻急先锋》主要讲述了虚构电视台“亚特兰蒂斯有线新闻台”节目背后的故事，故事的主要人物包括：新闻主播威尔·麦卡沃伊（杰夫·丹尼尔斯饰演）；他的新制作人麦肯齐·麦克海尔（埃米莉·莫迪默饰演）；编辑室成员吉姆（小约翰·加拉赫饰演）、玛姬（艾莉森·皮尔饰演）、史蓉（奥利维亚·穆恩饰演）、尼尔（戴夫·帕特尔饰演）、唐（托马斯·萨多斯基饰演）；电视台老板查理·斯金纳（萨姆·沃特森饰演）。^[5]^[6]

威尔·麦卡沃伊（Will McAvoy）(杰夫·丹尼尔斯饰)——威尔是亚特兰蒂斯有线新闻台新闻节目《晚间新闻》的主播兼执行制作，他是一名温和的共和党人，他的成功在于他的圆滑世故。但是实际上，威尔非常内心交战。两种矛盾的性格让他在每次直播之后都显得有些痛苦。威尔原本平静的生活在麦肯兹·“麦肯”·麦克黑尔出现之后发生了巨大的变化，他原来的制作团队被他的拍档挖到了另一档新闻节目，他不得不让玛坎西·默克尔及其团队来接手他的新闻节目。第三季中和玛坎西结婚。

麦肯兹·“麦肯”·麦克黑尔（MacKenzie McHale）(埃米莉·莫迪默饰)——曾和威尔谈恋爱。在伊拉克及阿富汗做了26个月的报导后回来，《晚间新闻》新任执行制作。第三季中和威尔结婚。^[7]

詹姆斯·“吉姆”·哈珀（James "Jim" Harper）(小约翰·加拉赫饰)——随麦肯兹在伊拉克和阿富汗工作，也跟着她加入《晚间新闻》的新任制作，原本与麦克黑尔在另一档节目合作，但是随着她一同辞职来到《晚间新闻》节目组。他对玛姬一见钟情。^[8]

根据《娱乐周刊》的报导，艾伦·索金在2009年4月便打算制作一部有关有线电视台新闻频道幕后制作的电视剧，而当时他还在担任电影《社交网战》的剧本撰写。^[12] 而在制作《新闻急先锋》之前，索金也制作过两部相同题材的电视剧，分别是《晚间体育》（Sports Night（英语：Sports Night））和《日落大道60号摄影棚》。^[13] 索金与HBO就本剧的谈判自2010年便开始，^[14] 直到2011年1月，他才通过BBC新闻台确认了该剧正在制作中。^[15]

《新闻急先锋》的场景位于加州好莱坞的日落高尔摄影棚（Sunset Gower Studios（英语：Sunset Gower Studios）），^[16] 自2011年秋天开始录制。^[17] 根据行程表，制作方将在九天内拍摄完制作出一集内容，同时再花费六到七天的时间剪辑制作成适合电视台播映的版本。^[17]

北美地区

《新闻编辑室》于2012年6月24日在美国HBO电视台首播，首播即创下210万收视观众的佳绩，为近年来HBO电视台的最好成绩。^[18] 《新闻编辑室》第一集在HBO官方网站、iTunes、YouTube等视频网站上提供免费观看。^[19]

加拿大HBO电视台负责向加拿大播放《新闻编辑室》，播映速度与美国同步。^[20]

欧洲地区

英国及爱尔兰，由天空电视台大西洋频道在2012年7月10日负责播映，播出速度落后美国本土两周。^[21]

德国及奥地利，由英国天空广播旗下的视频点播网站SKY GO（英语：Sky Go）提供播出服务，播出速度仅落后美国本土一天。但是播出的版本为英语版本，德语版本预计将在2012年秋季于天空电视台大西洋高清频道播出。^[22]

匈牙利HBO电视台负责向匈牙利播出《新闻编辑室》，英语版本将只落后美国一天，但是匈牙利语版本则要在2012年7月30日起播映。^[23]

荷兰HBO电视台从2012年7月2日开始，《新闻编辑室》也将向荷兰播出。^[24]

中东地区: 以色列，通过YES OH（英语：Yes Oh）频道从2012年6月30日起播映。^[25]
