威廉·德西特

威廉·德西特（荷兰语：Willem de Sitter，1872年5月6日—1934年11月20日）是一位荷兰数学家、物理学家和天文学家。

生平与其研究

德西特生于荷兰弗里斯兰省斯内克。他就读于格罗宁根大学，之后进入格罗宁根的天文实验室任职。之后曾于1897年到1899年之间任职于南非的好望角天文台。1908年他成为莱顿大学天文系主任，1919年起直到他去世他都是莱顿天文台台长。

德西特的主要贡献在于物理宇宙学。他和阿尔伯特·爱因斯坦于1932年共同发表论文，声称宇宙可能有大量不发光的物质，就是今日所说的暗物质。他还提出了爱因斯坦广义相对论的解，即德西特宇宙和德西特空间，其中并无物质和正值宇宙学常数。这个结果是空宇宙的大幅扩张。德西特也以研究木星闻名。

他的儿子艾尔诺·德西特（Aernout de Sitter）是印尼冷邦博斯查天文台台长，并在当地研究M4 球状星团。1944年去世^{^[1]^[2]^[3]}。
