大型运载火箭[1]（英语：Heavy-lift launch vehicle，HLV）是指一种具备两万至五万公斤近地轨道有效载荷能力的运载火箭。[2]该型火箭技术要求水平甚高。[3]目前能制造大型运载火箭的国家有美国、中国、俄罗斯和欧洲。

联合发射联盟（ULA）—火神半人马座运载火箭：2024年服役至今，有效有效载荷为27,200千克（60,000英磅）。[4]- 航天探索科技公司（SpaceX）—猎鹰9号运载火箭(Block 5): 2010年首飞，2018年定型并服役至今, 有效有效载荷为22,800千克（50,300英磅）。[5]
