大坑溪位于台湾中部，属于乌溪水系，为大里溪主流上游河段，河长15.8公里，流域面积32.5平方公里，分布于台中市北屯区东半部的大部分，及台中市太平区西北端一小部分，河床平均坡降1/80[1]。本溪主流上游位于台中市境，发源于大横屏山山脉海拔标高776米之二嵙山西侧[2]，先向北流至内湖底，转向西流经田螺湖、畚箕湖后，再转向西南流经清水口、大坑，随后进入太平区宜佳里与廍子溪会合，改称大里溪。
