地磁扰动指数

地磁扰动指数disturbance storm timeDstKyoto Dst)是测量太空天气条件的一项指标。它提供了来自太阳的质子和电子引起地球周围环状电流强度的资讯[1]

环绕地球周围的环状电流产生的磁场直接位于地球磁场的正前方,也就是说,如果来自太阳的质子和电子的差异越大,那么地球的磁场就会变得越弱。

负值的Dst意味着地球磁场被削弱,在太阳风暴期间尤其如此。
