冷冻吨

冷冻吨(refrigeration ton,RT 或 ton of refrigeration,TR)是一些国家用来描述冷冻空调能力的功率单位。

1美制冷冻吨[1]定义为:在24小时内,使1短吨(2,000磅,907公斤)纯冰在摄氏0度(华氏32度)下,凝固熔化热传速率[2][3]。一冷冻吨等于一天消耗一短吨的冰,用其熔化热来冷却的功率。

美国的空调或冷冻设备常用吨标示其冷冻能力,此处的“吨”即为“冷冻吨”。1美制冷冻吨[1]约等于12,000 BTU/h = 3,024千卡/h = 3.517kW;若是较小型的空调或冷冻设备,也可能会改用BTU/h来标示。

上述的冷冻吨是以短吨来计算,若以公吨计算,则称为公制冷冻吨,约等于 3,320 kcal/h,相当于 1.1冷冻吨[4]

在台湾称“日本冷冻吨”是 10,000 BTU/h(2,500千卡/h),但其实日本使用的也是公制冷冻吨[5]。在台湾家电业常用的所谓“台制冷冻吨”则是 8,000 BTU/h(2,000千卡/h)[6][7]
