Artemia franciscana | |
卤虫属（学名：Artemia），俗称丰年虾、卤虫、海猴子（SeaMonkey）、盐水虾、盐虫子、水马骝等，是无背甲目卤虫科下唯一的属，浮游生物，动物性水虫，可当成宠物饲养。因其营养成分高，所以其无节幼体也可作为鱼饲料，是软珊瑚的主要食物之一。
丰年虾主要生存在盐湖之中，能在含盐量最高25%的水域存活[2]，连鱼类也无法生存。例如伊朗尔米亚湖就有一种丰年虾能够生存，具经济价值。
丰年虾卵是一种休眠卵，具有厚壁，会受到外界的温度及盐分浓度等因素刺激，进而活化、孵化。孵化出来的幼体称为无节幼体，大约9天即可达到性成熟。
丰年虾生殖方式分为孤雌生殖与无性生殖，幼体胚胎发育方式分为卵胎生和卵生。
人造物种
[编辑]“神奇水马骝”（Artemia Nyos）是“纽约海洋学会实验室”（New York Ocean Science Laboratories）研制的新品种，可活两年。
