බෙංගාලි (/bɛŋˈɡɔːli/),[6] නොහොත් බංග්ලා (বাংলা Bengali pronunciation: [ˈbaŋla]), යනුවෙන්ද හැදින්වෙන මෙම බස ඉන්දු -ආර්ය භාෂාවක් වන අතර ඉන්දියානු උපමහාද්වීපයේ බෙංගාල කලාපයේ භාවිතා වේ. එය බංග්ලාදේශයේ වැඩිපුරම කතා කරන භාෂාව වන අතර හින්දි බසට පසුව ඉන්දියාවේ උපලේඛනගත භාෂා 22න් දෙවනුව වඩාත් පුළුල් ලෙස කථා කරන භාෂාව වේ. දළ වශයෙන් දේශීය කථිකයින් මිලියන 228ක් හා දෙවන භාෂා කතිකයින් ලෙස තවත් මිලියන 37ක් සිටින අතර, [1][7] බෙංගාලි යනු පස්වන වැඩිපුරම කථා කරන මව් භාෂාව වන අතර ලෝකයේ මුළු කථිකයින් සංඛ්‍යාව අනුව හත්වන වැඩිපුරම කථා කරන භාෂාව වේ.[8][9]
