Kara-Hanidski Kanat bila je konfederacija/savez turskih (turkijskih) plemena kojima je vladala dinastija u literaturi poznata kao Karahanidi ili Ilek Khanids, (perzijski: قَراخانيان‎, Qarākhānīyān ili خاقانيه‎, Khakānīya, kineski: 黑汗, 桃花石).[1] Kanat je osvojio Transoksaniju u Centralnoj Aziji i vladao u periodu 999–1211.[2][3] Dolazak Kara-Hanida u Transoksaniju je označio kraj iranske i početak turske (turkijske) dominacije u Centralnoj Aziji.[4] Prijestolnice države su bile Kashgar, Balasagun, Uzgen i Samarkand. Historija države je poznata iz oskudnih i često proturječnih izvora, kao i proučavanjem kovanica.[5]
