श्रीलङ्काको संविधानमा सहर राम्रोसँग परिभाषित कानूनी विभाजन होइन। श्रीलङ्काका सहरहरू अर्थतन्त्र, पर्यटन वा प्रशासनमा महत्त्वपूर्ण महत्त्वका साथ सहरहरू र नगरपालिकाहरू भनेर चिनिन्छन्।
