Labi-labi Melayu[4] (Dogania subplana) ialah spesies labi-labi dari keluarga Trionychidae. Ia adalah genus yang monotip.
Taburan
[sunting | sunting sumber]Spesis ini boleh ditemukan di Brunei, Indonesia, Jawa, Kalimantan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Filipina, Sabah, Sarawak, Singapura, dan Sumatera.[5]
Ciri-ciri
[sunting | sunting sumber]Labi-labi dewasa mempunyai karapas (cangkerang belakang) 35 cm (13.7 in). Kepalanya besar kuat. Bentuk karapasnya rata, dan rata di sisi. Anak labi-labi bewarna kemerahan di sisi lehernya, dan terdapat beberapa tompokan bulatan hitam (ocelli) pada karapasnya. Tanda-tanda ini akan kabur bila berkembangnya usia.[5]
Labi-labi Melayu berwarna hijau-coklat gelap. Hidungnya panjang dan mempunyai lapan pasang pleuralia.[6]
Habitat
[sunting | sunting sumber]D. subplana mendiami kawasan air bersih seperti sungai, kolam dan tasik.[5]
Diet
[sunting | sunting sumber]Makanannya terdiri daripada siput dan pelbagai moluska lain, mereka akan memecahkan cangkerang mangsa dengan rahangnya yang kuat.[5]
