Empayar Nicaea [1] merujuk pada satu nama bersejarah empayar terbesar dari tiga buah empayar Yunani Byzantium[2][3] yang diasaskan oleh para aristokrat dari empayar Byzantium yang melarikan diri selepas Kustantiniyah ditakluk jarah oleh pasukan tentera Eropah Barat dan Venice semasa Perang Salib Keempat. Sepertimana Empayar Trebizond dan Empayar Thessalonica, ia mendakwa penerus bagi Empayar Rom. Negara keempat yang dikenali sebagai Empayar Latin, memerintah Kustantiniyah dan kawasan sekitarnya juga mendakwa sebagai penerus yang sah kepada Empayar Rom.

Empayar Nikaiah diasaskan oleh keluarga Laskaris,[3] dan bertahan pada tahun 1204 sehingga 1261, apabila Nikaiah berjaya memulihkan kembali Empayar Byzantium di Kustantiniyah.
