ഇറ്റാലിയൻ ഉന്നത നവോത്ഥാന കലാകാരനായ ജോർജിയോൺ കാൻവാസിൽ വരച്ച എണ്ണച്ചായ ചിത്രമാണ് ത്രീ ഫിലോസഫേഴ്സ്. ഇതിൽ മൂന്ന് തത്ത്വചിന്തകരെ കാണിക്കുന്നു - ഒരു ചെറുപ്പക്കാരൻ, ഒരു മധ്യവയസ്കൻ, ഒരു വൃദ്ധൻ. നിഗൂഢതയിലും ആൽക്കെമിയിലും താൽപ്പര്യമുള്ള വെനീഷ്യൻ വ്യാപാരിയും വെനീഷ്യൻ കുലീനനുമായ തദ്ദിയോ കോണ്ടാരിനിയാണ് ഈ ചിത്രം വരയ്ക്കാൻ ചുമതല നൽകിയത്. ചിത്രകാരൻ മരിക്കുന്നതിന് ഒരു വർഷം മുമ്പാണ് ത്രീ ഫിലോസഫേഴ്സ് പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയത്. ജോർജിയോൺ വരച്ച അവസാനത്തെ ചിത്രങ്ങളിലൊന്നായ ഇത് ഇപ്പോൾ വിയന്നയിലെ കുൻസ്തിസ്റ്റോറിഷെസ് മ്യൂസിയത്തിൽ പ്രദർശിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. സെബാസ്റ്റ്യാനോ ഡെൽ പിയോംബോയാണ് പെയിന്റിംഗ് പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയത്.
ത്രീ ഫിലോസഫേഴ്സ് 1509-ഓടെ പൂർത്തിയായി. കുറച്ച് വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് ശേഷം വെനീഷ്യൻ വില്ലയിൽ വെച്ച് കണ്ട മാർക്കന്റോണിയോ മിക്കിയേലിന്റെ (1484-1552) രചനയിൽ നിന്നാണ് ഈ ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ പേര് ലഭിച്ചത്.[1] ചിത്രീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന മൂന്ന് രൂപങ്ങളും സാങ്കൽപ്പികമാണ്: ഒരു വൃദ്ധനായ താടിക്കാരൻ, ഒരുപക്ഷേ ഒരു ഗ്രീക്ക് തത്ത്വചിന്തകൻ; ഒരു പേർഷ്യൻ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അറബ് തത്ത്വചിന്തകൻ; ഒപ്പം ഇരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ചെറുപ്പക്കാരൻ, എന്നിവരെ പ്രകൃതിദത്തമായ ഭൂപ്രകൃതിയിൽ ചുറ്റപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.[2] പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിൽ കുറച്ച് പർവതങ്ങളുള്ള ഒരു ഗ്രാമമുണ്ട്. രണ്ടാമത്തേത് നീലനിറത്തിലുള്ള ഒരു പ്രദേശം അടയാളപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. അതിന്റെ അർത്ഥം അജ്ഞാതമാണ്. യുവാവ് ദൃശ്യത്തിന്റെ ഇടതുവശത്തുള്ള ഒരു ഗുഹ നിരീക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചില ഉപകരണങ്ങൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് അത് അളക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. പത്തൊൻപതാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ അവസാനം മുതൽ പണ്ഡിതന്മാരും വിമർശകരും വിവിധ കാരണങ്ങളാൽ അത് യേശുവിന്റെ ഗ്രോട്ടോയ്ക്ക് മുമ്പായി ഒത്തുകൂടിയ മൂന്ന് മാഗികളുടെ പ്രതിനിധാനമാണെന്ന മുൻ വീക്ഷണത്തെ നിരസിച്ചു.[3][4]
