റോക്ക്ഫെല്ലർ ഫൗണ്ടേഷന്റെ സഹായത്തോടെ 1932 ഡിസംബർ 30 നു സ്ഥാപിതമായ ഓൾ ഇന്ത്യ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് ഹൈജീൻ ആൻഡ് പബ്ലിക് ഹെൽത്ത് (AIIH&PH) പൊതുജനാരോഗ്യത്തിലും അനുബന്ധ ശാസ്ത്രങ്ങളിലും ഗവേഷണത്തിനും പരിശീലനത്തിനുമുള്ള കൊൽക്കത്തയിലെ ഒരു മുൻനിര ഇന്ത്യൻ സ്ഥാപനമാണ്. ഡയറക്ടർ ജനറൽ ഓഫ് ഹെൽത്ത് സർവീസസ്, ന്യൂഡൽഹി, ഇന്ത്യാ ഗവൺമെന്റിന്റെ ആരോഗ്യ, കുടുംബക്ഷേമ മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന് കീഴിൽ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ഇത് ഇപ്പോൾ 2003-ൽ സ്ഥാപിതമായ വെസ്റ്റ് ബംഗാൾ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഓഫ് ഹെൽത്ത് സയൻസസുമായി അഫിലിയേറ്റ് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. സിംഗൂരിൽ ഗ്രാമീണ പരിശീലന കേന്ദ്രവും ചെത്‌ലയിൽ നഗര പരിശീലന കേന്ദ്രവും ഇതിന് ഉണ്ട്. ^{[1] [2]}

1943-ൽ, റോക്ക്ഫെല്ലർ ഫൗണ്ടേഷനുമായി സഹകരിച്ച്, AIIH&PH, ഇൻ ബോർഹോൾ ലാട്രിൻ വികസിപ്പിച്ചെടുത്തു. ^{[3] [4]}

റോക്ക്ഫെല്ലർ ഫൗണ്ടേഷന്റെ സഹായത്തോടെ സ്ഥാപിതമായ AIIH&PH 1932 ഡിസംബർ 30 -ന് ബംഗാൾ ഗവർണറായിരുന്ന സർ ജോൺ ആൻഡേഴ്സൺ ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു. AIIH&PH കൽക്കട്ട സർവകലാശാലയുടെ ഒരു ഘടക കോളേജായിരുന്നു. അതിന്റെ തുടക്കം മുതൽ, കോളേജ് കൽക്കട്ട സ്കൂൾ ഓഫ് ട്രോപ്പിക്കൽ മെഡിസിനുമായി സഹകരിച്ച് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു. 1953-ൽ ലോകാരോഗ്യ സംഘടനയും യുണിസെഫും ഒരു അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര പരിശീലന കേന്ദ്രമായി ഇതിനെ അംഗീകരിച്ചു. ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് 1944-1945 ൽ ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ ഗ്രാമ ആരോഗ്യ സർവേ നടത്തി, അതിൽ പശ്ചിമ ബംഗാളിലെ 7000 അംഗങ്ങൾ അടങ്ങുന്ന ഏകദേശം 1200 കുടുംബങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു പൊതു ആരോഗ്യ സർവേ നടത്തി. സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യാനന്തരം, 1950-ൽ, ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ടിൽ ശിശു, പ്രസവ ആരോഗ്യ വിഭാഗം നിർമ്മിക്കുന്നതിനായി കേന്ദ്ര ആരോഗ്യ മന്ത്രാലയവും ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭയുടെ ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ ചിൽഡ്രൻസ് എമർജൻസി ഫണ്ടും തുല്യമായി പങ്കിട്ട 90 ലക്ഷം രൂപ ചെലവിൽ വിപുലീകരണ പദ്ധതികൾ തയ്യാറാക്കി.

1995-ൽ, എച്ച്ഐവി/എയ്ഡ്‌സ് തടയുന്നതിനായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ലൈംഗികത്തൊഴിലാളികളുടെ സംഘടനയായ ദർബാർ മഹിളാ സമന്വയ കമ്മിറ്റിക്ക് വേണ്ടി AIIH&PH-ലെ പബ്ലിക് ഹെൽത്ത് സയന്റിസ്റ്റ് ഡോ. സ്മരജിത് ജന 65,000 ലൈംഗികത്തൊഴിലാളികൾക്കിടയിൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു. 2004-ൽ, AIIH&PH പുതുതായി രൂപീകരിച്ച വെസ്റ്റ് ബംഗാൾ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഓഫ് ഹെൽത്ത് സയൻസസുമായി (WBUHS) അഫിലിയേറ്റ് ചെയ്തു.

പബ്ലിക് ഹെൽത്ത് മാനേജ്‌മെന്റിൽ ബിരുദാനന്തര ഡിപ്ലോമ വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഒമ്പത് സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് ഇത്. ^[5] പ്രധാന കാമ്പസ് ചിത്തരഞ്ജൻ അവന്യൂവിൽ ആണെങ്കിൽ, 2011 -ൽ കൊൽക്കത്തയിലെ സാൾട്ട് ലേക്ക് സിറ്റിയിൽ അതിന്റെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ കാമ്പസും പ്രവർത്തനക്ഷമമായി.
