ദേവനാഗരി ഒരു ഭാരതീയ ലിപിയാണ്. ഹിന്ദി, മറാഠി, നേപ്പാളി മുതലായ ഭാഷകൾ എഴുതാൻ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന പ്രധാനലിപിയാണ് ദേവനാഗരി. പത്തൊൻപതാം ശതാബ്ദം മുതൽ സംസ്കൃതം എഴുതുന്നതിനും പ്രധാനമായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത് ദേവനാഗരിലിപിയാണ്. സിന്ധി, ഗോണ്ഡി, കൊങ്കണി, കാശ്മീരി മുതലായ ഭാഷകൾ എഴുതുന്നതിനും ഈ ലിപി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.

വൈദികസംസ്കൃതത്തിൽ മൂന്നക്ഷരങ്ങൾകൂടി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.

പേർഷ്യൻ, ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് മുതലായ ഭാഷകളിൽ ഉള്ളതും എന്നാൽ ഭാരതീയ ഭാഷകളിൽ ഇല്ലാത്തതുമായ ശബ്ദങ്ങളെ സൂചിപ്പിക്കനായി നിലവിലുള്ള ലിപിയോടൊപ്പം ഒരു ബിന്ദു (നുക്തം)കൂടി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.

രണ്ടോ അതിലധികമോ വ്യഞ്ജനങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തെ കൂട്ടക്ഷരങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ട് സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
