സ്കങ്ക്‌വൈൻ, സ്റ്റിങ്ക്‌വൈൻ, ചൈനീസ് ഫീവർ വൈൻ എന്നെല്ലാം പേരുകളുള്ള ഒരു വള്ളിച്ചെടിയാണ് ഗന്ധപ്രസാരണി, (ശാസ്ത്രീയനാമം: Paederia foetida).[3] മിതശീതോഷ്ണ, ഉഷ്ണമേഖലാ ഏഷ്യയാണ് ഇതിന്റെ ജന്മദേശം. മസ്കറീനീസ്, മെലനേഷ്യ, പോളിനേഷ്യ, ഹവായിയൻ ദ്വീപുകൾ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ സ്വാഭാവികമാക്കപ്പെട്ട ഈ സസ്യം സമീപകാലപഠനങ്ങളിൽ വടക്കേ അമേരിക്കയിലും കണ്ടെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.[2]
ഗന്ധപ്രസാരണിക്ക് കടുത്ത ഗന്ധകമണമുള്ള ദുർഗന്ധം ഉണ്ട്. ഇലയോ വള്ളിയോ ഞെരടിനോക്കിയാൽ ദുർഗന്ധം വരും,[4] ഇതിനു കാരണം, ഈ മണത്തിനു കാരണമാകുന്ന എണ്ണ, പ്രധാനമായും ഇലകൾക്കുള്ളിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന സൾഫർ സംയുക്തങ്ങളിൽ, വലിയ അളവിൽ ഡൈമെഥൈൽ ഡിസൾഫൈഡ് ഉണ്ടെന്നതാണ്.[5]

[തിരുത്തുക]ഈ ചെടി ബംഗ്ലാദേശ് തെക്കൻ ഭൂട്ടാൻ, കംബോഡിയ, തായ്വാൻ, ഹോങ്കോങ്ങ് ആൻഡ് മക്കാവു, ചിഅനീസ് പ്രവശ്യകളായ അൻഹുയി, ഫ്യൂജിയൻ, ഗാൻസു, ഗുവാങ്ഡോങ്, ഗുവാങ്ക്സി, ഹെനാൻ, ഹെനാൻ, ഹുബെയ്, ഹുനാൻ, ജിയാൻങ്ങ്സു, മാവോ, ഷാൻക്സി, ഷാൻഡോങ്, ഷാൻക്സി, സിചുവാൻ, ക്സിജാങ്ങ്, യുനാൻ, സെജിയാങ്ങ്, ഇന്ത്യ ( ആന്ധ്രാപ്രദേശ്, അരുണാചൽ പ്രദേശ്, അസം, മണിപ്പൂർ, മേഘാലയ, മിസോറാം, നാഗാലാൻഡ്, ഒഡീഷ, സിക്കിം, തെലങ്കാന , പശ്ചിമ ബംഗാളിന്റെ വടക്കൻ ഭാഗത്തും ആൻഡമാൻ നിക്കോബാർ ദ്വീപുകളിലും); ഇന്തോനേഷ്യ ; ജപ്പാൻ (ഹോൻഷു, ക്യുഷു, ഷിക്കോകു പ്രിഫെക്ചറുകളിലും റ്യുക്യു ദ്വീപുകളിലും); ലാവോസ് ; മലേഷ്യ ; മ്യാൻമർ ; നേപ്പാൾ ; ഫിലിപ്പീൻസ് ; സിംഗപ്പൂർ ; ദക്ഷിണ കൊറിയ ; തായ്ലൻഡ് ; വിയറ്റ്നാം എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലെല്ലാം തദ്ദേശീയമാണ്.[2]
ഉപയോഗങ്ങൾ
[തിരുത്തുക]ഇത് ചിലപ്പോൾ അലങ്കാരമായി നട്ടുപിടിപ്പിക്കുന്നു, കൂടാതെ നാടോടി വൈദ്യത്തിൽ ഉപയോഗമുണ്ട്.[2][6] വടക്കുകിഴക്കൻ, കിഴക്കൻ ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ചില പരമ്പരാഗത പാചകങ്ങളിൽ ഇത് പാചക സുഗന്ധവ്യഞ്ജനമായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു.
