അംലോഡിപിൻ ദീർഘനേരം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതും ഡൈഹൈഡ്രോപൈറിഡിൻ വിഭാഗത്തിൽ പെട്ടതുമായ ഒരു കാൽസ്യം ചാനൽ ബ്ലോക്കർ മരുന്നാണ്. ഇത് രക്തസമ്മർദ്ദം കുറയ്ക്കാനും ഹൃദയ ധമനികളുടെ അസുഖങ്ങൾ ചികിത്സിക്കാനും ആഞ്ചൈന എന്ന വിഭാഗത്തിൽ പെട്ട നെഞ്ചുവേദന ചികിത്സിക്കാനും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു. [1] ധമനികളിലെ മൃദു പേശികളെ അയയ്ക്കുന്നതിലൂടെയാണ് അംലോഡിപിൻ രക്തസമ്മർദ്ദം കുറയ്ക്കുന്നത്. ആഞ്ചൈനയുള്ളവരിൽ അംലോഡിപിൻ ഹൃദയപേശികളിലേയ്ക്കുള്ള രക്തയോട്ടം വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. വായിലൂടെയാണ് മരുന്ന് സ്വീകരിക്കേണ്ടത്. ഒരു ദിവസമെങ്കിലും മരുന്നിന്റെ ഫലം ലഭിക്കുന്നു.[2]
