투코투코류(tuco-tucos)는 신열대구에 서식하는 투코투코속(Ctenomys) 설치류의 총칭이다.[1][2] 투코투코속은 투코투코과(Ctenomyidae)의 현존하는 유일속으로 약 60여 종을 포함하고 있다."투코투코"(tuco-tuco)라는 명칭은 굴을 파면서 내는 소리 "툭툭(tuc-tuc)" 소리에서 유래했다.[3]
