Orycteropodidae Afrotheriaren barruko ugaztun familia bat da. Espezie fosil ugari badaude ere, gaur egun espezie bakarra existitzen da, Orycteropus afer edo urde inurrijale. Tubulidentataren barruko familia bakarra da, beraz sinonimotzat har daitezke.
Familia Afrikan sortu zen, Miozenoan eta geroago Eurasian zehar heatu zen. Familiaren dibertsitaterik handiena Pliozenoan galdu zen.
