Funkcija
[uredi | uredi izvor]Ovaj gen je član porodice TAFA koja se sastoji od pet visoko homolognih gena koji kodiraju male sekretne proteine. Ovi proteini sadrže konzervirane cisteinske ostatke na fiksnim pozicijama i udaljeni su sa CCL3, članom porodice CC-hemokina. TAFA proteini su pretežno eksprimirani u specifičnim regijama mozga i pretpostavlja se da funkcionišu kao hemokini ili neurokini, specifični za mozak, koji djeluju kao regulatori imunskih i nervnih ćelija.[6]
