Filasterea je predloženu bazni kladus Filozoa koji uključuje grupe Ministeria i Capsaspora.[1] To je sestrinski kladus Choanozoa u kojem su se pojavili Choanoflagellata i Animalia. Izvorno su ih predložili Shalchian-Tabrizi i sur. 2008. godine, na temelju filogenomske analize s desetak gena. Otkriveno je da je Filasterea sestrinska grupa kladusa sastavljenog od Metazoa i Choanoflagellata u sastavu Opisthokonta, a nalaz je dodatno potkrijepljen dodatnim filogenetskim analizama raznolikošću bogatih taksona.[2][3][4]

Etimologija

Imenovane su po latinskiom terminu filum = nit, konac + grčki ' aster = zvijezda , što označava glavna morfološka obilježja koja imaju svi njihovi oblici: mali, zaobljeni amoeboidi s monojedarnim ćelijskim tijelom, prekriveni dugim i zrakastim ćelijskim izraslinama poznatim kao filopodije. One mogu biti uključene u adheziju supstrata i hvatanje plijena.

Aplikacije

Danas postoje kulture dviju filasterskih vrsta: Capsaspora owczarzaki i Ministeria vibrans, prva izolirana iz slatkovodnog puža, a druga morska, slobodnoživeća bakterija. Dobijen je cjelokupni niz gena C. owczarzaki[5] a u toku je sekvenciranje genoma M. vibrans. Uporedne analize pokazale su da je grupaFilasterea ključna za otkrivanje genetičkog repertoara jednoćelijskih predaka životinja i za pružanje uvida u porijeklo Metazoa. Analiza metabarkodiranja ribosomnog 18S u morskom okruženju nije uspjela povezati ostale filasterske predstavnike,[6][7] sugerirajući da ovaj kladus možda nije osobito bogat u prirodnim ekosistemima.
