Лагатып Міжнароднага агенцтва ISBN

Міжнародны стандартны кніжны нумар (англ.: International Standard Book Number, скарочана — англ.: ISBN) — унікальны нумар кніжнага выдання, неабходны для распаўсюджвання кнігі ў гандлёвых сетках і аўтаматызацыі працы з выданнем. Нароўні з індэксамі бібліятэчна-бібліяграфічнай класіфікацыі (ББК), універсальнай дзесятковай класіфікацыі (УДК) і аўтарскім знакам, міжнародны стандартны кніжны нумар з’яўляецца часткай так званага выдавецкага пакета.

Стандарт быў распрацаваны ў Вялікабрытаніі ў 1966-м годзе на базе 9-знакавага стандартнага кніжнага нумара (англ.: Standard Book Numbering code, скарочана — англ.: SBN code) Гордана Фостэра (англ.: Gordon Foster). У 1970-м годзе з невялікай зменай быў прыняты як міжнародны стандарт ISO 2108. З 1 студзеня 2007 года ўведзены новы стандарт міжнароднага стандартнага кніжнага нумара — 13-знакавы, які супадае са штрыхкодам.

Існуе таксама падобны стандарт ISSN (International Standard Serial Number) для перыядычных выданняў.

У Беларусі міжнародны стандартны кніжны нумар выкарыстоўваецца з 1993 года[1].
